About the Massachusetts Head Start Association

MHSA Inc. is a private, not-for-profit membership organization comprised of the 32 Head Start agencies in the Commonwealth that provide Head Start and Early Head Start services to more than 14,000 families annually. Membership in the Association is comprised of directors and parents that have been elected by parent policy councils or committees from their local program.  Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from September to June and are open to all Head Start parents and staff. MHSA is governed by a 10 member Board of Directors consisting of five directors and five parents that are elected annually by the membership. MHSA is a member of the National Head Start Association (NHSA) and the New England Regional Head Start Association (NEHSA).
